Currently, Norwegian operates a daily service between London Gatwick and New York JFK. This will increase to twice daily from the 9th August.
This change will allow the service to run double-daily beyond the end of the summer timetable.
The complete timetable is listed as below:
London Gatwick to New York JFK DY7013 DEPART LGW 06:00 ARRIVE JFK 09:20 DY7015 DEPART LGW 17:10 ARRIVE JFK 20:30 New York JFK to London Gatwick DY7014 DEPART JFK 11:20 ARRIVE LGW 22:50 DY7016 DEPART JFK 22:30 ARRIVE LGW 10:00+1 Operates from 10th August 2017, runs through winter timetable to 9th March 2018 DY7016 operates 30 minutes later than timetabled on Wednesdays Booked Equipment: Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
The timings of the new morning flight are rather punishing, with Norwegian yet to get any slots in the more prime slots. On the plus side, for those wanting to get to the New York area early to explore the city before checking into their hotel, this could be a great benefit. Similarly, the return journey should allow the traveller to get over jet lag easily – although getting into central London might be challenging considering the time you arrive and the time you clear customs.
Is it enough to start challenging for business traffic? In theory, there is, but the times aren’t business friendly.
If Norwegian want to challenge the larger carriers with those precious corporate customers, then getting a timetable that’s business friendly would help… a lot.
