Ryanair is changing its check in window again for those who have brought reserved seats already. And it’s going to be a long check-in window.

The majority of us when travelling legacy carriers are used to reserving seats way in advanced to select the perfect seat (or in most cases – the most passable seat) – and then patiently waiting for T-24 when we can actually check in and get our boarding passes
Ryanair in the past has allowed check-in for up to 30 days in advance. Now the airline intends to offer check-in at a massive 60 days in advanced.
However, this is only for passengers who have paid for a seat assignment. Those who didn’t pay the for a seat assignment will get the ability to check in a mere 4 days in advanced. This seat will be randomly assigned, so think carefully – as you could wind up in a dreaded middle seat.
All online check-in options close two hours before departure.
Ryanair’s Kenny Jacobs states
We are pleased to introduce 60 day check-in for customers who purchase an allocated seat, the latest customer initiative as part of our “AGB” programme, doubling the check-in window and providing more choice to consumers.
Seats start at £3/€3 depending on the route, and seats are included on Ryanair’s Leisure Plus and Business Plus fares. Of course if you want the better seats, you’ll need to pay.
But you know the Ryanair game by now.
And if you’re willing to play the game (knowing what costs what, when to book the ticket and what add-ons to get, Ryanair can be competitive value – such as the time last year I flew from Dublin to Birmingham for a mere £12, booked 4 weeks before flying – including the seat reservation.
