British Airways is finding new homes to operate its Airbus A380 operations – this time adding Chicago as a new Airbus A380 destination.
The double-decker plane will be operated on a flight pair familiar to me – BA294/295 between London Heathrow and Chicago O’Hare International.
Chicago is operated twice-daily, and the new timetable to reflect the A380 operation from May 2018 is below:

Checking the British Airways site – the plane is loaded in the system from the 8th May 2017, and ticketing is open for it.
British Airways operate their Airbus A380 in a four class configuration, split across the four decks:
- 14 First Class Seats (lower deck)
- 97 Club World Seats (business class – lower and upper deck)
- 55 World Traveller Plus Seats (premium economy lower and upper deck)
- 303 World Traveller (economy class seats – lower and upper deck
I’ve been aboard the British Airways Airbus A380 a couple of times both in Club World (on a short haul segment) and on a long haul segment between Washington Dulles and London Heathrow in World Traveller (on the top deck) if you want my views of the A380.
Hopefully by then, British Airways will have had a chance to improve the service on these segments (especilly in World Traveller and World Traveller Plus). See my recent trip in World Traveller Plus between Chicago O’Hare and London to see why.
