It’s Sunday again, so it must be time for some more airplane art.
This week, we have Lufthansa Boeing 747-8I (Intercontinental) parked at Frankfurt Airport as it awaits reactivation and re-entry into service.
Lufthansa operates a fleet of 19 Boeing 747-8I aircraft in its long haul fleet. They operate alongside the Airbus A330-300, Airbus A340-300. Airbus A350-900 and Boeing 747-400. They will also be welcoming the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner into the fleet later this year.
This aircraft – D-ABYT was parked for some time during the pandemic. It was delivered to the airline in March 2015, remaining in the fleet since then.
It flew for the first time in some months in late May 2021, with it making its first passenger flight to Sao Paulo in Brazil on the 3rd of June 2021.
