It’s Sunday again, so it must be time for some more Airplane Art.
This week, we have an Aer Lingus Airbus A320neo taking off from Dublin Airport as it heads off on another short-haul mission.
Aer Lingus operates eight Airbus A320neo aircraft in its short to medium-haul fleet. The airline also operates in Airbus A320, Airbus A321LR and Airbus A321XLR in its narrow-body fleet. With the A320 and Airbus A3220neos used to feed the Irish carrier’s hub at Dublin Airport, the A321LR and A321XLR take up the long-haul narrow-body missions.
This aircraft is EI-NSA – the Airbus A320neo class leader for Aer Lingus. It is named St. Thomas (like most of the Aer Lingus fleet). Originally, the aircraft was built for Smartavia as VP-BQA, but the aircraft was not taken up (given that Smartavia is a Russian airline). The aircraft was delivered to Aer Lingus in September 2022, where it has remained since then.
Given that this is a short-to-medium-haul aircraft, it is based out of Dublin and Shannon Airport, operating to Geneva, Izmir, Barcelona, London Heathrow, Munich, Düsseldorf, and Faro.
More Airplane Art Next Week.
