Lufthansa is trying to improve the premium passenger experience, with the launch of its modernised Premium Check-in Area in Terminal 1, Hall A, at Frankfurt Airport.
The space is accessible to limited passenger groups, including First Class passengers, HON Circle members, Senators, and those who hold Star Alliance Gold status.
Lufthansa staff are available at the new service bars in the check-in area to address individual needs. Furthermore, staff assist with exclusive baggage machines to ensure a smooth, convenient baggage drop-off.
The new Premium Area combines modern design, personalised service, and practical extras such as a separate waiting area and changing rooms, making the stay for Lufthansa Group Airlines guests at Frankfurt Airport even more enjoyable and flexible.
In the area, there are high tables with charging stations and comfortable seating that create a calm atmosphere, ideal for a relaxed meeting before departure.
Additionally, there is separate access directly from Parking Lot P31, located adjacent to the terminal.
Changing Rooms, you say?
Lufthansa is keen to point out a new feature for its Premium Check-in Area – a spaciously designed section with changing rooms, enabling quick outfit changes or convenient repacking before departure. This fulfils a frequently expressed customer wish.
Lounge A13 Reopens
In addition to the Premium Check-in Area, status customers and Business Class passengers can now once again access the Lufthansa Business Lounge at Gate A13.
Following a brief renovation period, the lounge integrates into the comprehensive service offering and provides diverse opportunities for relaxation, work, and flight preparation. And surprisingly, not a lot of grey any more – more blues and browns.

A step up
With Lufthansa Group trying to chase after premium passengers with innovations in the cabin, new seating and updating its service via its FOX initiative, plugging gaps in service on the ground is important.
And this is part of the answer as the airline seeks to improve the experience at its home base.
The addition of a changing area before security is a little surprising, but if they’ve got the data to back it up, so be it.
The new check-in area is now open to passengers – so if you want a little quiet from the hustle and bustle of the main Frankfurt Terminal, and if you have the status or ticket, it could be worth seeking out.
