Off again to O’Hare.

With my time up in the USA, and my bags packed, I waited in the reception of the Hyatt Regency O’Hare until a bus pulled up.

Well, there was one thing to do first – set up a new AirTag.

Gotta get the AirTag running first.

With me as the only passenger, it was a straight run to Terminal 3 to drop me off. Sometimes, there’s an advantage in leaving in the evening for the airport.

I was dropped off near the British Airways door at Terminal 3, and grabbed my stuff. With a tip given, I was on my merry way into the terminal building.

With British Airways. Iberia, JAL and Aer Lingus are all located towards the right-hand side of the terminal (closer to T2 than most of the AA check-in desks, and there was no wait in the premium queue.

See you mostly all in London. Except you, Pan Am Bag.

I was greeted by friendly check-in staff who started work on my ticket and check-in requirements.

Both bags were accepted for travel, so I was good to go internationally. A boarding pass was issued, as well as my luggage slips on a BA Arrivals ticket folio.

With that, it was time to head to security. This was at the start of the US Government shutdown. The experience was the usual one at this gate – a little sluggish, but kept moving,

Not that I could see this was active here.

Whilst passing the luggage bins, I saw a sign… and yes. This is America as it is now.

What’s the term I can use without offending anyone… “A sign of the times”.

This included the time to do bag screening as well as a metal detection.

With that done, I was free to roam the terminal… and make my last shopping stop in Chicago – Garrett’s Popcorn.

My friends love it – and I love it – especially when they have their $25 tin and a bag of popcorn on the special makes it a lot more tolerable.

With popcorn in hand, it was time to head towards the lounge. Nope. Chilli’s at the airport doesn’t interest me…

Nor do most of the outlets at O’Hare Terminal 3, to be honest.

Some shops. Also, a dreaded “InMotion” too.

A fashion accessories store called Brighton. Due to the image a bit further up, I’ve closed comments in this post; otherwise, I would have let my British Audience go wild in the comments section.

I headed down the hall of flags – this time decorated in Breast Cancer Awareness flags.s

Even the duty-free shop is a little half-hearted in Terminal 3. I know it’s not the biggest driver of revenue in the airport (compared to the size of the one in Terminal 5), but its compactness does work against it.

I exited the disappointment of duty-free and continued towards the American Airlines lounge. Dinner was calling.
