Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond (20th December)

20/12/2025 by Kevincm Leave a Comment

We’re heading into the busiest part of the travel period for some parts of the world as we near Christmas and the New Year. But the headlines don’t stop (or hopefully, some will), as we go into Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond.

SNAPSHOTS

More snapshots from my travels. Might be some more next week, but I might choose to launch the trip report instead (and that’s looking a lot more likely, if I’m honest, as it’s a long trip report.

  • AirAsia 710 Singapore Changi – Kuala Lumpur International
  • Malaysia Airlines 627 Kuala Lumpur International to Singapore Changi

New Aircraft News

  • China Airlines moves forward with an additional Airbus A350-1000 order – Another five for China Airlines.
  • Qanot Sharq takes delivery of its first A321XLR – First of four for the Uzbekistan airline.e
  • Austrian Airlines moves to simply its fleet – Embraer fleet to be transferred out – Exit, E195.

Routes and Networks

  • Emirates roll out its refurbished Boeing 777 to Beirut and Beijing – New interiors ahoy!
  • Finnair to go very long-haul with Melbourne starting in Autumn 2026 – Still reeling from network constraints, Finnair tries something different.

Next Week

For those who have delayed their travels until next week, we’ll have some updates on what to expect on the rails and in London, as well as any headlines that pop up as we head to the much quieter festive period (in news cycle terms, at least).

Plus, given how much time your author gets to sit down and type, we’ll have the beginnings of a long trip report.

Until then, Happy Landings!
