Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond (27th December)

27/12/2025 by Kevincm Leave a Comment

As we enter the middle bit between Christmas and New Year, where time no longer matters and “what date is it?” is more of a statement than a question.

But I’m here to reassure you, at the time of writing, it’s the 27th December – a Saturday this year – so it must be time for Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond.

Trip Report – 50 Up – Growing Old in Style

Time for a trip report, as I grow older and less wiser by the trip.  This is going to be a long one, as I’m writing it as I go along (and sorting through the images is a challenge unto itself).

50 Up. Growing Old in Style – Return to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur with Three Alliances and an LCC

New Aircraft News

If it’s the end of the year, it’s time for the last-minute deliveries to customers to bump up some numbers.

  • Rise Air of Canada takes delivery of its first ATR72-600 – First of Three
  • Philippine Airlines takes delivery of its first Airbus A350-1000 – First of Nine
  • Thai Airways takes delivery of its first A321neo – and another 30 are on the way
  • Porter Airlines takes delivery of its 50th Embraer E195-E2 – Mr Porter’s fleet of jet aircraft continues to grow

Routes and Networks

  • IndiGo to launch a Delhi to London Heathrow service

Rail Updates

  • Travelling by Rail this Christmas and New Year in the UK? Have fun with that…

Pretty Pictures

  • Scoot Embraer E190-E2 departing Singapore Changi

Next Week

It’ll be a new year when I write this post next, and there are some traditions we still maintain at the end of the year, with a quick look back at the year, my year in travel and numbers. We’ll also have some more of the trip report if I get around to bullying images to be in the right location (and trust me, there’s a lot).

And if there are any interesting headlines, I’ll try to work through them.

Until then, Happy Landings!
