Edelweiss Air unveils its new Airbus A350 interiors

20/01/2026 by Kevincm Leave a Comment

SWISS leisure carrier Edelweiss Air is showing off its new Airbus A350 cabin, with a three-and-a-half-class product, under the banner “More room to feel good”, with changes both with seats and inside the cabin.

Let us investigate.

Business and Business Suite

The new Edelweiss Business combines high comfort with a cabin layout tailored to holidaymakers, which offers a 1-2-1 seating configuration throughout the cabin. Approximately half of the seats are designed as double seats and are ideal for couples travelling together.

The seats can be fully converted into a flat bed, allowing for restful sleep on long journeys. They will feature Dark blue tones, a unique woven upholstery, and carefully selected wood surfaces as part of the cabin materials.

For those wanting more privacy and space, there will also be an Edelweiss Business Suite.

The seats can be fully converted into a flat bed. They will feature closable doors, approximately 1.20 meters high to ensure a high degree of privacy, while the large 32-inch monitors provide an immersive cinematic experience. In the middle suites, the room divider can be individually adjusted, allowing the suite to be used flexibly for guests travelling together.

A distinctive feature is the generous open foot area, which offers significantly more freedom of movement when lying down. The package is complemented by a comfortable memory foam pillow and a mattress topper for restful sleep, as well as additional storage space for personal hand luggage.

Premium Economy

Moving down the cabin, Edelweiss is expanding its premium offerings and simultaneously increasing the proportion of premium seats on board. The new Edelweiss Premium Economy features 28 seats in a 2-3-2 configuration with approximately one meter of legroom and a high-quality hard-shell seat, like those used on other Lufthansa Group airlines.

Passengers can enjoy a welcome drink even before take-off. During the flight, they benefit from an expanded food selection, served on china on a tablecloth. Alcoholic beverages are included. Noise-cancelling headphones from Edelweiss Business Class provide added comfort.

Down the back of the cabin, more blues and hues are around to create a calm ambience, with fine stitching to give a tailored look. The new seats offer approximately three centimetres more legroom compared to the previous cabin, as well as a greater seat tilt angle, which noticeably increases comfort on long journeys.

New Technologies in the cabin, too

As well as new seating, technology is playing an important part in the new cabin. In all travel classes, guests benefit from free high-speed internet via Starlink, 4K screens with Bluetooth audio connectivity, and a comprehensive in-flight entertainment system with over 400 films and series, a 3D flight map, and external cameras. Human-centric lighting supports the natural circadian rhythm on long-haul flights.

For those in Edelweiss Business and Edelweiss Business Suite, there will be a mains outlet “at seat”. For those who love wireless charging, Edelweiss Premium Economy, Edelweiss Business, and Edelweiss Business Suite will feature wireless charging mats – as well as noise-cancelling headphones.

Across all seats and cabins they will feature high-performance USB-C and USB-A ports, which will be able to deliver up to 60 watts of power, allowing you to charge a phone or laptop.

In Quotes

Bernd Bauer, CEO of Edelweiss, said:

“With the new Airbus A350, we seized the opportunity to rethink our entire cabin product and develop it consistently with our guests’ well-being in mind,” says

“Our aim was to create a space that exudes tranquility, is of high quality, and clearly positions itself as a premium product. The new cabin is a logical evolution of our design and represents modern comfort, Swiss quality, and a contemporary long-haul holiday flight experience.”

Entry into service.

Currently, Edelweiss Air has four Airbus A350-900 aircraft in its fleet (all ex LATAM Brazil).  The first aircraft with the new cabin will enter service in December 2026. Flights will be bookable from summer 2026.

Further converted Airbus A350s will follow gradually in January, February, April, May, and July 2027.

By summer 2027, Edelweiss’s entire Airbus A350 fleet will be equipped with the new cabin.

Elegantly Simple

Simplicity is the name of the game here, with a clean and elegant design, whilst packing in technology for the passengers, as well as options for those travelling on holiday, or on business, with options for those who want to travel as couples, those who want space (be it in business or premium economy), or those who just want a seat to get to their destination.

With added passenger comfort options such as 4K screens at seat, high speed connectivity, and an IFE back catalogue, Edelweiss Air has presented a very good option for leisure travellers… or travellers in general, depending on the route.
