It’s coming up to Easter soon (yes, people, check the diaries). As such, Iberia and its associated airlines have prepared a lot of capacity during that time.
Just under 1.2 million seats or so.

In what the airline defines as the Easter period (27th March to 7th April), Iberia, Iberia Express and Iberia Regional Air Nostrum will operate 7,329 flights, with 1,175,132 seats on sale.
To meet travellers’ needs, Iberia has increased capacity and frequencies on some routes. Venice will have three additional flights a week; Budapest, Athens and Prague add two new frequencies, and for those who want to travel to Vienna, an additional flight will be offered.
In addition, the capacity of flights to Rome, one of the favourite destinations at this time of year and which will be operated, some days of Holy Week, with wide-body aircraft, frequently used for long-haul destinations, is growing.
Iberia’s Easter period also coincides this year with the start of the summer season, which begins on the 29th March. On that day, Iberia launches its daily flight to Newark, in the United States. This route, operated by the new Airbus A321 XLR, completes the operation to JFK airport, thus offering three daily flights to New York.

Víctor Moneo, Iberia’s Global Sales Director, said:
“We are aware that Easter is a very concentrated peak of mobility in a few days. For this reason, at Iberia we have strengthened our capacity in the destinations with the highest demand, ensuring that the increase in mobility translates into a fluid, comfortable travel experience with a seat offer that faithfully responds to the needs of our customers,”
It’s going to be a busy easter
Given things that are going on, European destinations could well be on a lot of people’s minds, especially with the short Easter Holiday period.
With extra services (and capacity) being stood up to support Iberia’s customers, there should be some options that suit travellers during the period
The important thing is that seats are sold, as to dictate future capacity, especially as Iberia continues on its 2030 Flight Plan, the company’s roadmap for the coming years, which seeks to position the Madrid hub as a major travel node
For Easter, it’s going to be a major enough node as it stands.
