For those of you clinging on to your ITA Airways Volare frequent flyer programme, change is afoot, as the airline moves to be a fully integrated member of Miles and More.
From the 1st April 2026, ITA Airways will join Miles & More (the loyalty programme of the Lufthansa Group) as a fully integrated partner with a progressive integration of the user experience that will be consolidated throughout the month of April. Volare itself will start closing from 30th March.
This announcement follows the first step taken in February 2025, when ITA Airways announced commercial synergies with Lufthansa Group, as well as partial ownerhip of the airline. This allows for a unified experience when it comes to loyalty across the group.
Miles & More has over 39 million members worldwide, with ITA Airways noting it is one of Europe’s largest and most successful loyalty programs, offering customers a wide range of benefits and exclusive privileges, comprising 170 international partnerships, including 35 airline partners and 135 non-airline partners.
Through this integration, ITA Airways passengers will get:
- Global reach and recognition: Access to one of the most established loyalty networks in Europe.
- Consistency for travellers: A unified experience across Lufthansa Group airlines.
This decision is a milestone as ITA Airways continues its integration into the Lufthansa Group, whilst trying to reinforce the Italian airline’s commitment to delivering a seamless travel experience and enhanced value to its customers.
