Ramping up to launch
We’ve been keeping an eye on Western Sydney International Airport, and the promises it has made, with the airport set to open in October 2026, and work at the airport is in progress as it heads towards opening with one runway and a terminal in the initial phase.
Currently, Qantas, Jetstar and Air New Zealand have announced that they are planning to also serve the new airport, with Qantas Cargo planning to operate 24-hour services from the airport.
Supporting the airport’s opening will be road connectivity (the M12 motorway ), and the Sydney Metro Greater West is under construction to support passengers travelling from Central Sydney to the new airport.
For now, both airlines and the airport march towards opening.
