IAG Airline Aer Lingus has followed British Airways and has introduced flights operating with Starlink connectivity.
Flight EI105, which departed on the 29th March, operating the Dublin to New York JFK route are the first to experience the new connectivity technology, which enables customers in every cabin to seamlessly access free, fast, reliable internet for streaming, working, gaming, and staying connected.
Aer Lingus’ first plane equipped with Starlink is an Airbus A330, registered as EI‑EIN. After being fitted with Starlink antennas, the plane underwent extensive testing to prepare for its first customer flight
This aircraft will now pave the way for a wider fleet rollout later this year, which will cover the airlines’ Airbus A330, Airbus A321XLR, Airbus A321LR, Airbus A320neo and Airbus A320-200 aircraft. The regional fleet operated by Emerald Airlines (as Aer Lingus Regional) will not see the technology deployed.
The rollout will focus on its fleet that heads to North America, following those which operate flights to Europe.
Starlink Wi-Fi is expected to be available across the airline’s long-haul fleet by Q1 2027.

Lynne Embleton, Chief Executive Officer, Aer Lingus, said:
“Introducing Starlink on our first aircraft is a big moment for us in Aer Lingus. It means our customers can browse, download and stream at speeds as fast as, or quicker than, they’d get at home.
“This level of connectivity is a real gamechanger. It gives our customers more freedom in how they spend their time on board and it helps our crews and teams work more efficiently.
“As we mark our 90th year, Starlink is just one of a number of customer improvements we’re bringing to Aer Lingus.”
