British Airways and Porter Airlines of Canada have entered into a codeshare agreement, expanding on the interline agreement between them.
The new codeshare agreement will provide British Airways customers with seamless access to travel on selected Porter Airlines domestic routes.
British Airways customers will be able to book flights to 17 destinations in Canada, connecting from the British Airways network when travelling to or from London via Toronto or Montreal, with Porter flights sold with BA flight numbers. The codeshare flights cannot be booked in conjunction with a BA transatlantic flight.
The destinations included in the BA/Porter Codeshare are:
- Calgary
- Charlottetown
- Deer Lake
- Edmonton
- Halifax
- Kelowna
- Montreal (Metropolitan)
- Montreal (Trudeau)
- Ottawa
- Quebec City
- Saskatoon
- St John’s
- Thunder Bay
- Toronto (Pearson)
- Vancouver
- Winnipeg
- Victoria
Notably, flights to/from Toronto City are not covered in this codeshare agreement.
The codeshare partnership opens up a range of new routes in Canada for British Airways customers. In addition, members of the British Airways Club will be able to earn Avios and tier points when travelling on Porter Airlines flights, meaning even more opportunities for members to unlock benefits for flying.

More Canadian options
For those who want to explore Canada from Toronto or Montreal, there are now new options, without resorting to sepeate bookings, or switching airlines – which is a win for passengers.
Especilly for those BA Club Members, having Avios and Tier Points may sweeten the deal, rather than switching to another carrier, or cutting through the USA. For some passengers…. that could be very important indeed
