It’s Sunday again, so it must be time for some more Airplane Art.

This week, we have a Batik Air Malaysia Boeing 737-800 taxiing at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

Batik Air Malaysia (Part of the Lion Air Group) operates 21 Boeing 737-800 aircraft in its single-aisle fleet. The airline also operates the newer Boeing 737-8 MAX and Airbus A330-300 in its fleet. These aircraft link Malaysia with destinations near and far.

This aircraft is registered as 9M-LDT. It was initially delivered to Garuda Indonesia in September 2014. It remained in the fleet until October 2021, when it was returned to its lessor. It was picked up by Batik Air (Indonesia) in August 2022, and it was used for just under a year before it was stored in July 2023. It was re-delivered to Batik Air Malaysia in November 2024 and has remained active in the fleet since then.

The aircraft is based out of Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Like most single-aisle aircraft, it’s been busy, operating from KLIA to Mumbai, Singapore, Langkawi, Medan, Jakarta, Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, Kuching, Pekanbaru, Guangzhou, Johor Bahru, Denpasar, Delhi, Kota Bharu, Lombok, Penang, Kunming, Hong Kong and Perth.

More Airplane Art Next Week!
