As we all know, travel never ends at an airport (unless you live inside the terminal), and normally there’s at least one mode change before reaching your destination. Malaysia Airlines is making it a little easier for its passengers who arrive in Paris, with codeshare connections by rail.
The connections will be offered at Malaysia Airlines’ gateway to France – Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, offering connections to 28 destinations across the SNCF Voyageurs network.
The partnership, offered under SNCF Voyageurs’ TRAIN + AIR product, integrates air and rail services into a single connected journey.
Through this partnership, Malaysia Airlines will place its marketing code on SNCF-operated rail services under AccesRail’s IATA code “9B”, enabling customers to book rail segments as part of their onward itineraries via CDG. Passengers will benefit from a seamless end-to-end travel experience with a single booking, coordinated connections and simplified transfers, making it easier to access key regional cities such as Lyon, Strasbourg, Rennes, Lille and Marseille.
It allows Malaysia Airlines customers travelling into Paris Charles de Gaulle to conveniently extend their journey beyond the airport to major French and regional cities via France’s high-speed rail network.

It’s great to see airlines sign codeshare deals with train operators, which will help make the total journey a lot easier for passengers – without the need to buy yet another ticket, or fumble around another country’s travel system.
That’s enough of a challenge when awake, but even more so when just off a long-haul flight.
