A Dreamliner, a luggage loading truck and a five hour delay…

22/10/2013 by Kevincm

Good evening from London Heathrow airport… Where I’m writing from as I’ve just pulled in…

A good 5 hours late.

Why?

A luggage loading truck decided to bang the Dreamliner I was on – resulting in a titanium strip being removed, lots of discussions between London, Toronto and Seattle before the plane was released.

So there was nothing that could be done – other than to carry out service on the ground (without customs clearance of Canada – so no alcoholic beverages)…

And wait until 04:10 EDT to be allowed to depart.

The plane made it in without any problems on route, and I’m now completing my final leg for home.

I’ll give the crew this: they were excellent. Also, there were very few temper-tantrums too.

I’ve got a bunch of photos, but I’m going to try and grab some rest before home.

But what a trip….
