Earlier today as I was heading into downtown Chicago to do a few things, this message popped up on my screen…
The words “not so good” came to mind (well, the words were a lot more fruity). I decided rather than worry about it, to deal with it about it when I got back to the airport.
Well, I did in the end. Except there’s another change in plan – with an aut0-rebook back onto the American Airlines direct flight to Heathrow.
That’s not what I want in the least (mainly as want some home comforts on the way, home – but the thought of an AA 767 twice within a week down the back of the plane isn’t my idea of fun.
I therefore asked the nice booking agents to undo the changes on the ticket, and just check me in as far as Heathrow (so, in mileage run terms – I’m dropping the last segment – actually for a legitimate reason).
And thus it was done.
Looking back, I’m not 100% happy with the initial rebook, as there was no interaction between British Airways and me, bar a warning email that a flight had been cancelled… and that could had been done better.
I am happy that the check-in staff at O’Hare could undo the changes, and get me back on a proper plane to London.
Oh well – just another wrinkle in the joy of travel.
