British Airways is planning to change its operations to Miami with plans afoot to send a pair of Airbus A380s to Miami on a daily basis.

The new timings and flight numbers have been released, with the new timetable commencing in October 2015:
BA207 DEPART LHR 09:10 ARRIVE MIA 13:55 BA209 DEPART LHR 13:35 ARRIVE MIA 18:20 BA206 DEPART MIA 17:10 ARRIVE LHR 06:30+1 BA208 DEPART MIA 20:50 ARRIVE LHR 10:05+1 New timetable commences 25th October 2015 Booked Equipment Airbus A380 on both flights Data: AirlineRoute
So why the change? Business Traveller goes along the lines that there’s terminal consolidation needed at Heathrow, as Terminal 1 closes and British Airways reorganises its services around the Terminal 3 and Terminal 5 complexes.
Airlineroute also notes that there will actually be a service reduction between the two cities, with the route dropping from 17 flights a week to 14 flights a week. Whilst a drop in frequency is never welcome, there will be a capacity increase with the flights swapping from Boeing 747s currently operated on the route to larger Airbus A380s.
Expect a lot more changes as terminal space is rationalised at Heathrow – with the closure of Terminal 1 forcing airlines to move around…
