With Spring/Summer timetables being firmed up, airlines are beginning to adjust their plans for the summer as need. Thai Airways is one of those airlines getting ready, with plans to drop from 14 flights a week between Bangkok Suvarnabhumi and London Heathrow to 12.

TG910/911 which utilises an Airbus A380 will maintain its daily service between Bangkok and London. Meanwhile, TG916/917 will be reduced to a five-times a week operation, and not operating Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The revised timetable looks like this:
Bangkok Suvarnabhumi to London Heathrow TG910 DEPART BKK 0110 ARRIVE LHR 0715 Airbus A380 Operates Daily TG916 DEPART BKK 1240 ARRIVE LHR 1845 Boeing 777-300ER, Does not operate Tuesdays and Thursdays Notes: TG916 operates five minutes later on Saturdays, ten minutes later on Sundays London Heathrow to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi TG911 DEPART LHR 1230 ARRIVE BKK 0545+1 Airbus A380 Operates Daily TG917 DEPART LHR 2125 ARRIVE BKK 1500+1 Boeing 777-300ER, Boeing 777-300ER, Does not operate Tuesdays and Thursdays Commences 27th March 2016 Data: Airlineroute
So, for the summer there will be less seats operated by Thai Airways to Bangkok. However, there are some options direct between London to Bangkok including:
- EVA Air who operate a daily service as part of its London to Taipei via Bangkok
- British Airways who operate a service
Other options – including via Europe and the big Middle East Three are available if you enjoy connections.
It’s disappointing seeing a service cut, but you never know with Thai Airways – they love to chop and change their timetable as demand allows.
