Well hello there! My name’s Adam, regular FlyerTalk visitors may know me better as sigma421. Kevin has kindly allowed me to fill his blog with tales of my trip to Los Angeles. So, over the next few weeks you’re going to have to sit through a slideshow of my holiday photos and hopefully, a bit of insight into the journey itself.
So, how on earth did I end up booking a trip to Los Angeles in the opening days of 2016?
The answer to that requires a confession.
Now and again I cast my eye over travel blogs other than the esteemed organ in which I find myself writing today. Back in late July I found myself recovering from eye surgery and supremely board. An article popped up on Head for Points noting that £265 return flights to Los Angeles were available in January and February 2016, so long as you were willing to start in Copenhagen.
I was very willing to do this and put the idea to a few friends. To my astonishment three of them said yes and a plan began to hatch. By the end of it, we had secured flights and accommodation for under £500 per person.
Not bad for a one week long-haul holiday.
So how did the trip actually go? The answer will be revealed in the coming articles. I hope you enjoy them. Do tweet me @adamcobb if you have any questions (in fact, feel free to hit the follow button anyway)
