TRIP REPORT – Californiacation! New Cuddly Ryanair – Flight FR7404 London Luton-Copenhagen
Kevin’s Note: I flew Ryanair last year, and found it bearable compared to some options out there. How does Adam find the new cuddly Ryanair?

Around 20 minutes after the scheduled pushback time our magical mystery tour of Luton Airport came to an end as the bus finally pulled up next to the Ryanair 737 that was due to take us to Copenhagen.
We all clambered onboard the plane which turned out to be absolutely freezing. It soon became apparent that this was a substitute plane (which was presumably the cause of the delay) and the heating hadn’t yet kicked into gear.
It’s still very, very yellow in here…
The flight was almost entirely full and the Ryanair seat tombola (your author is far too mean to pay £5 for an allocated seat) had allocated me a window seat (yay!) in the last row of the plane (boo!).
Sadly the freezing plane was completely covered in condensation, which meant the view from the window looked rather unimpressive.
To be fair, it’s only stopping me from seeing Luton…
9 o’clock came and went and we finally pushed back around 35 minutes behind schedule.
This meant I was now in a head to head race against my friends who were flying in to Copenhagen on a Ryanair flight from Edinburgh, which had originally been scheduled to arrive 30 minutes after my flight. The winner of this all important race will be revealed in due course…
The flight raced down the runway and headed into the sky, heralding the commencement on the traditional Ryanair sales run.
The member of cabin crew doing the announcements was somewhat over keen and spent a good 3 minutes giving flowery descriptions to almost every item on the menu.
I eventually gave in and bought the ‘luxurious and lovely ham and cheese panini’.
Below is a photo of said panini (or panino for you Italian grammar purists out there) in a packet which states all of the E numbers it contains. I’ll leave you to judge how luxurious it is…
In fairness, it did fill a breakfast shaped hole in my stomach and, if their is ever a threat of nuclear war, I shall order a shipping container of them as they could probably survive a hydrogen bomb explosion given the number of preservatives they contain.
As we approached Copenhagen I decided to try my luck with the phone signal (yes, I know) and see where my travel companions’ plane was.
It transpired that it was directly behind us in the landing queue meaning that I had won the race (just) and wouldn’t spend a lonely 30 minutes sitting in Copenhagen Airport baggage reclaim (or so I thought…).
Landing was fairly smooth by Ryanair standards and there was no on-time jingle (I must admit to being a tad fond of the new version).
As is traditional on a Ryanair flight we spent several minutes taxiing past big, shiny terminals before pulling up next to a tin shed where the doors were flung open and we were released onto the tarmac, just in time to see the Edinburgh flight pulling onto stand.
