So a quick one line review of some of the products and places on this trip:
The Cathay Pacific Business Lounge: It’s a step up in Heathrow lounges, but needs some polish in terms of monitoring working facilities.
Finnair on an A320: Eurobusiness, but at least delivered with some care.
The Finnair Helsinki Airport Lounges: Cleanly designed facilities, putting the passenger first. Well done to Finnair for getting it right.
NoRRA ATR’s: Bouncy little things. And sadly, not my preferred method of travel. They work – but that’s all I can say.
The Finnair Airbus A350: Sublime. A great performance by the crew aboard a good aircraft. What more is there to say?
And Tallinn. It’s interesting… and I’ve only scratched a little of the surface I suspect. I will need to go back. And plan better.
So what was the point of this trip?
Lets make no bones TIER POINTS is the name of the game.
And what did what did our survey say when the points came in?
Tier Points: 200
Avios: 6036.
I’m going to blunt: That scores a lot better than all of my long-haul trips…. combined so far this year (around £1500 of spend).
Now, there’s a wrinkle to all of this. Originally, I was going to have to take two extra trips – but British Airways and myself have been having an on/off argument about some Tier points I was owed in March over an upgrade I brought at the airport, and if they were going to give me the points.
Finally, in December – they award the 70 extra tier points I needed – pushing me to 445 Tier Points in total.
That’s still 165 points off the magic total.
So guess where I’m going back to Mid-January?
Tune in later for Let’s Tallinn That Again.
And will it have an Airbus A350 in it? You betchya. I have unfinished business with seat, and an IFE system to explore.
But before we go forward, we need to go backwards. That doesn’t make much sense – but I have a nice trip report when I went to Washington DC, so starting Monday, Mr Kevincm goes back to Washington.
And you want to tune it. This one has real comedy, delays, The TSA at its best, the crappiest attempt at breakfast in the sky and one of these.
Starts Monday! Thanks for reading!
