Arriving at the plane, I found that it had been swapped from the expected Airbus A321 to an A320 – and thus taking out my exit row seat that I had booked.
Thanks for nothing BA.
I sighed, and dumped my trash in the overhead bin, and settled in.
Oh hello again B/E Aerospace Pinnacle Seat.
At least you can see the stitching isn’t white. Small things.
Overhead control panel with air vents.
Legroom – and yes – there was a spare seat too. Four for four – that’s impressive.
The plane filled up slowly, with people taking their time (and not in the mood to go anywhere fast that day), eventually, the plane was filled for the short flight to Manchester.
Still boarding.
With the plane loaded up, it was time for us to push back and head off. The butchered British Airways video played again, and our plane began the taxi to the runway.
There’s one BA 747…
And there’s another
SAS Boeing 737 creeping behind us. I see you…..

Soon it was our turn to head down the runway and up into the sky.
With our plane skyborne, I turned to see what was going on with the outside world
The Wembley area
Wembley Stadium is the thing with the “triumphant arch”
Clearing the London suburbs.
Cabin during cruise
Flying over suburbia.
The crew began their cabin service. It took a little time, but they made my row – where I went for my in-flight beverage choice along with a snack
The tray deployed!
Good luck getting this for free anymore.
Green and pleasant land.
Onboard IFE was limited to the overhead screen and what was outside of the window. I’ve had worse IFE choices in the past.
With a short flight, I was expecting a quick arrival so I could run for the coach. Alas, it seems we were going to be routed to a different runway, and more annoyingly – taking our own sweet time doing it.
Turning into the sun
Liverpool, Runcorn and a few other places in the distance.
Soon the Airbus A320 captain found a route they liked with air traffic control, and slowly brought the plane towards the ground.
With a bump, our A320 landed at Manchester Airport – bringing the flying part of the journey to the end.
With the plane down, we began the taxi back to Terminal 3, with some interesting sights on the way.

Coming onto gate
With the BA1530 coming onto the gate, the seatbelt signs were extinguished, with everyone trying to get off the plane. With my coach gone, I took my time.
Time to leave.
I thanked the crew and headed to domestic arrivals.
Overall: Another good domestic segment aboard BA1530, with a hard-working crew. It’ll be interesting to try this now buy-on-board has been implemented, and this service can be carried out faster than before.
Next: Time to go home. But how?
