Eithad Airways is preparing to change how it operates its flights between Abu Dhabi to London Heathrow, by converting the operation to all Airbus A380 operation.

The switch-over will occur on the 12th July 2017, replacing the mixture of equipment used. Whilst the route was majority-A380 operated, EY017/018 had equipment variation – resulting in an Airbus A340-600 or a Boeing 777-300ER turning up on the route.
The revised timetable to all-A380 operation looks like this:
Abu Dhabi to London Heathrow
EY011 DEPART AUH 02:35 ARRIVE LHR 07:35 EY019 DEPART AUH 08:10 ARRIVE LHR 13:00 EY017 DEPART AUH 13:50 ARRIVE LHR 18:45
London Heathrow to Abu Dhabi to
EY012 DEPART LHR 09:35 ARRIVE AUH 19:55 EY020 DEPART LHR 15:00 ARRIVE AUH 01:20+1 EY018 DEPART LHR 20:45 ARRIVE AUH 07:05+1 All flights operate as Airbus A380 from 12th July 2017 Operates Daily Data: RoutesOnline
There will be a brief period in October where some flights will be operated a Boeing 777-300ER in October – check before you book.
Eithad operate their Airbus A380s in a three class configuration, broken down as:
- 9 First Class Suites on the upper deck
- 70 “Pearl” Business Class Seats on the upper deck
- 415 “Coral” Economy Class on the lower deck
However, for passengers used to differing equipment, constant equipment on a route will present a constant product between the two cities.
With Etihad considering taking more routes All-A380 (such as Sydney), it will provide something I treasure when flying – a consistent passenger experience.
