Heathrow to open a fitness studio…

28/06/2017 by Kevincm

Sometimes going through the airport can feel like a fast cardio work out if you’re running late for you flight (or running off the plane so you get home faster).

For those who have lazed their way to the airport, or need to keep fit whilst at the airport Heathrow Airport and FlyFit are teaming up to bring a fitness studio at the airport.

The studio space will be located in Terminal 2, after the security area in departures. Passengers can access the facilities via a lift.

The studio will offer passengers both instructor-led and interactive strength, restorative yoga, and cardio classes. Also available will be rental workout clothing, shower facilities and healthy food options too.

CMO and founder of FlyFit, Lauren Perkins states:

“As a long time instructor, coach, triathlete and entrepreneur, I saw my performance and energy levels suffer as I racked up frequent flyer miles. I knew others faced these same challenges. FlyFit was born out of our shared passion to improve health and well-being on the road for ourselves and others. We are creating a space for fitness and community that has previously been lacking in airports”

As for why Heathrow Airport?  CEO and founder, Brian Chappon states:

We picked Heathrow as our FlyFit launch partner because they agree with our ethos of changing the way people travel! We’re trying to create a new experience in the travel space and Heathrow invests in its customer experience

Its an interesting amenity to add to an airport as passengers focus on well-being and improving the passenger experience.

Just make sure if you choose to take advantage the facility, you leave enough time to 1) use it and 2) have a shower afterwards…

FlyFit have a minimalist site up for those who want to keep updated.

Yawn…like LHR doesn’t have bigger problems.

Seriously as a person that likes to workout I get the idea and motivation. You might even have the time to do this. The problem for me is that unless your a frequent flyer through LHR on a regular schedule you likely would have to work too hard to build this into a trip.

Sorry I don’t mean to be negative.
