The airline currently uses the Vantage seat in its Business Class cabin aboard it’s Airbus A330 fleet – so this will bring a common seat standard to the two fleets.
The Vantage XL offers direct aisle access – and with four seats in the first class cabin of the A350 – it will prove to be an intimate space to be.
The Vantage XL platform is already in the air – flying with Qantas on their A330 fleet and the airlines upcoming Boeing 787 fleets. It also forms basis of upcoming DeltaOne Suite.
The Vantage seat is flying in the air with Swiss, TAP Portugal, and certain Aer Lingus aircraft.
It’s another win for Thompson Aero who work with airlines to deliver seatsets quickly and efficiently to their customers. These seats will be line-fitted to the aircraft.
For those premium customers – this could be a comfortable way of travelling the long distances the A350 will cover.
Australian Business Traveller has further information about the plans of the Airbus A350 fleet and its initial operations.

The Vantage XL pictured above is also flown by SAS in Biz. Great seat. Plenty of storage. Still has too-narrow a footwell though IMO.
