It’s always a joy when it’s a first flight day – and today is no exception with the first flight of the Airbus A330neo – this example being an A330-900neo

The A330neo has commenced its first sortie and will return to Toulouse later today.
The A330neo features a new wing, and Rolls Royce Trent 7000 engines. It is planned for the to also feature the new interior on this plane – the Airspace by Airbus, which I covered last year
212 orders currently exist for the A330neo (Both -900 and -800)
TAP Portugal is currently the launch carrier of the type, with an entry into service expected in Mid-2018.
Whilst it’s not exactly a new clean sheet plane, it’s still exciting to see a new type take to the air.
And I’m still a fan on the A330. I find even as an economy passenger (providing the cabin is in a 2-4-2 configuration) they offer a passenger experience that is tough to beat.
