As Aircraft Interiors Expo 2018 comes closer, seat manufacturers are starting to reveal their latest buyers.
Expliseat has attracted the attention of Spicejet of India, and who have signed for Expliseat’s TiSeat E2 Seat.
The seat will be fitted to 10 Boeing 737 Next Gen and 25 new Bombardier Q400 aircraft

The seat itself is a lightweight seat, based on a modular frame, allowing it to be fitted onto single aisle aircraft (including Bombaider CSeries, Airbus A320 family and Boeing 737 family). For a seat of this type, it’s good to note that the seats will recline.
The TiSeat E2 will be a big saver for the airline – in the form of weight primarily – with a saving of 1.3 tones on a Boeing 737, and 400kg on Q400. Less heavy seats translates into less fuel for the airline to fill the aircraft with.
On the launch order Mr Ajay Singh, CMD, SpiceJet states,
“We are ensuring that our customers have the most comfortable seats when they fly SpiceJet. The seats that we have ordered are the widest, with the most legroom, and the lightest seats available today and will help reduce fuel burn.”
Benjamin Saada, CEO of Expliseat states:
“Expliseat is honored to announce that we have been selected by SpiceJet to equip the economy class cabin on retrofit and linefit aircraft. This contract confirms Expliseat ability to deliver TiSeat E2 seating solution on several aircraft platforms with major airlines”
Expliseat have delivered seats for ATR aircraft for Air Caraibes, CEBU Pacific and Air Tahiti so far.
