Brown goes Red… does it REALLY matter?

18/08/2009 by Kevincm

Our beloved Prime Minister, Gordon Brown (MP for Kirkcaldy & Cowdenbeath) has decided that a new contract to save the taxpayers money is needed, and is ditching the British Airways contract for a Virgin Atlantic contract.

Whilst Virgin might crow until the cows come home about this, lets take a little step back

  • Idle planes don’t earn money – therefore slicing 30% off a plane bill means you’re trying to make money at least which will hurt some way.
  • Refit of a plane – the plan is to install a conference room. That’ll knock the plane out of semi-regular traffic even further….
  • The Green Government – Well – the only thing that comes out of this are both Yellow and Brown. VS are selecting a B747-400.. which are a bit less fuel efficient than a twinjet of any sort (~7%). So nice own-goal there on THAT Policy.
  • And remember… in year or so there will be an election. Things change…

As long as we don’t have SRB crowing about this every 5 minutes, it’s something….
