So in early August, a FedEx MD-11 had to make an emergency landing at Miniapolis St Pauls on 14th with an onboard fire.
(Yes they’re DC-10’s.. but close enough….)
Now whilst concerning itself, the cargo that was on fire was – electronic cigarettes (as sold in various pubs and certain Low Cost Irish Big Mouth Carriers)
Made up mostly untested chemicals, nicotine and lithium batteries to boil the contents so when you puff, you have a shot of nicotine and the world seems right.
Alas, put a lot of them togerther and have a few that are faulty, sparks fly…. and this is what happens next:

Well they do say smoking of any sorts is bad for your health… and almost the health of pilots of the FedEx MD-11. Good work getting the bird down safely.
