Breaking news off the BBC News wire – http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8288313.stm

“All transatlantic flights from the UK are grounded because of an air traffic systems problem in the Shanwick airspace area, says BAA.
Delays could be as much as three and a half hours, it is thought.  The problem concerns Shanwick Oceanic Control, which is the airspace area for the north east Atlantic.”

BAA is showing also showing 3 1/2 hour days, with traffic affected from Mainland Europe, Ireland and the UK.

I don’t envy ANYONE who has to travel today….

**11:09 – Swanwick has revered to a manual system. Not all flights delayed, but it’s going to be murder out there… ***

** 12ish Problems at Swanwick have now been confirmed as fixed. However the backlog is going to take time to clear.**
