BA Strike: It’s on

20/03/2010 by Kevincm

I’ve held back from posting this until pretty much the last minute in case the strike was called off.

Alas, all the negotiation has been for nothing, and the BA/Unite strike is going ahead.

You can keep abreast of cancelations and all the shenanigans at http://www.britishairways.com/travel/strike-ballot/public/en_gb?refevent=HOME_URGENT_CENTRE

BA Expect to run a 60% service, with a mix of workers, retrained crew and charters being brought in (for example, the LGW-GLA run will be subbed by Ryanair of all people). Expect shorthauls to be filled with charter capacity and long haul cancellations.

Hopefully at the end of this 3 day action, people will knock their heads together and try and avoid the 4 day action that is to follow.

If you’re travelling, involved at any level and any side – good luck for the next few days.
