AeroMexico flies in to fill the gap – but first it needs a few aircraft

14/09/2010 by Kevincm

The remaining legacy airline in Mexico – AeroMexico is out shopping for more aircraft.

With the collaspe (which increasingly seeming permanent)of Mexicana, AeroMexico realises it needs some more capacity.

As a Boeing shop, it’s heading back to Seattle to see what planes they can evaluate and require for it’s fleet.

AeroMexico currently operates a mixture of 737-700’s, 737-800’s, 767-200ER, 767-300ER’s and 777-200ER’s, and is signed up for deliveries of 787-8’s in 2012 (if Boeing can get the things out of the door) with view to to leasing more of each class where possible.

Certainly there will be trouble ahead, but AeroMexico seems to be stronger than it’s counterpart… for now.
