AF: Reduce frequency, add an A380… and that’s a service…

11/10/2010 by Kevincm

Air France is continuing with it’s A380 rollout programme announcing a service to Montreal, with the start of a new service from 9th May 2011.

This will form flight AF346 departing Paris CDG at 1610, arriving Montreal 1720 and AF347 departing Montreal 1955 and arriving Paris CDG the next morning at 0830 on the inbound. However, for the extra capacity to head this way, something has to give, and that’s the 4th flight of the day, which is now consolidated into three flights linking Paris and Montreal together.

Currently, Air France operates A380 services to Johannesburg, New York (JFK) and Tokyo Narita. These aircraft have been delivered in 3 class configuration, with a 4 class re-configuration coming along shortly.

As more A380’s slowly trundle off the production line, expect more new routes – and more route consolidation to occur….
