For Kenya Airways, there will be a bit patience ahead as they have now finalised their order for Boeing 787’s, and have agreed a new delivery schedule.
Kenya Airways have in the past have been threatening to cancel the order with the delays the programme and even had gone to Airbus to consider other options, but it seems they are happy now to wait, with the first delivery of their 787’s due in late 2013.
Kenya Airways is planning to accept all 9 frames, and exercise the option it holds for another 4 once the first 9 are delivered, bringing it to a total of 13 787’s in their fleet eventually.
Boeing can breath a small sigh of relief, but has now committed itself to the new timeline. Let’s hope they can keep the timeline as the 787 aims to get it’s flight certificate…..
