UA: The March to a combined airline…

19/05/2011 by Kevincm

United are slowly preparing themselves for the combined United and Continental world, and a representative has posted an update at MilePoint

As has been identified, there are some bigish changes, namely the same-day change to fees are now aligning with both airlines ($75 to apply to both Standby and Confirmed changes, waived for OnePass Gold/Platinum/Presidential Platinum and Mileage Plus Premier Executive/1K/Global Services).

There’s also a lot of customer focused changes, such as combined kiosk systems, new signage going up, etc. But perhaps the most important is that the backend systems are starting to be combined so you can carry out changes to itineraries on either web site to get the job done.

There’s still a long way to go for the combined United… and plenty of challenges hidden away in the background….
