FR: We made money, but expect fares to go up.

23/05/2011 by Kevincm

Ryanair have been busy, posting strong profits of 374m euros (23%)during the current season.

However, it goes on to moan that a lack of growth in capacity (primarily by not buying more frames from Boeing or Airbus and it disposing of older frames), and higher fuel costs (which everyone is suffering through) will restrict growth and profit increases next year.

Ryanair is working to a 4% growth in passengers next year, whilst fares rise to meet the fuel costs – which themselves have jumped 3&% over the past 12 months.

And there’s not much more to say than that, other than moaning about having to look after passengers in volcano ash incident and pay compensation to affected passengers

As we all know, the ash is rearing it’s ugly head again – and whilst Ryanair aren’t imaging a big impact, the term “don’t hold your breath” comes to mind….
