Volcano Ash II: It’s all a bit of steamy…

26/05/2011 by Kevincm

The wonderful Volcano known as Grimsvotn seems to have taken a rest, and is just spewing white smoke.

Flights have been resumed to whatever can be classed as normal,

Meanwhile, the ash cloud itself is clearing, with NATS saying UK airspace was expected to remain clear until 1900 BST on Wednesday.

Forecasters said that if eruptions from the Grimsvotn volcano continued at “current variables”, all areas with the exception of East Anglia and south-west England might be affected by ash on Friday.

“At between 35,000 and 55,000ft, there could be a risk of a high concentration of ash covering most of the UK,” a spokesman said.

This doesn’t sound like it’s over yet – not by a long shot.

GhetttoIFE.com will keep an eye on this over the next few days, but lets hope this situation improves.
