LH: Adding another UK airport to the mix – to serve London Gatwick

06/07/2011 by Kevincm

Gatwick is getting more traffic it seems with the re-entrance of Lufthansa serving Frankfurt directly.

Commencing 30th October, this service will operate twice daily:

Morning Rotation

DEPT FRA 08:45     ARR LGW 09:10
DEPT LGW 09:50     ARR FRA 12:25

Evening Rotation

DEPT FRA 16:25     ARR LGW 16:50
DEPT LGW 17:40     ARR FRA 20:15

Booked Equipment: Boeing 737-500.

I’m honestly confused about these timings to be honest. Whilst they are good for Eastbound connections to Asia, they don’t seem to fit into “business” times, nor do they cater for the first few banks of US-Bound flights (and with a delay, you could wind up missing all US bound flights).

It’ll be interesting to see those who don’t want to go around the M25 to Heathrow seeing if this route takes off…..
