Tiger Airways Australia are still grounded – this time to the 11th August.
The court hearing has been adjourned again to allow Tiger and the CASA to solve it’s differences – the main issue being how Tiger documents how it will address it’s “safety issues” covering “everything from how the pilots fly the aircraft, to how the aircraft are operated themselves” according to the CASAS
Tiger Airways (the parent company), is loosing S$2m a week from Tiger Australia, but plans to operate continue.
They quote:
“This is a setback and a major setback. But we are committed to our Australian business and we see promise in the market. We are nowhere close to the tipping point of considering a pullout,”
How Tiger Australia can make money after this debacale is still open to question – by concentrating on profitable routes only may be the only way. That – or diverting Australian aircraft away into the Singaporean arm.
Tiger Airways Singapore continues to operate.
