Tiger Airways Australia have been beavering away in the background since they were given the all clear to fly again. Well the regulators seem to satisfied over the progress they have made, and have been allowed to operate at total of 32 sectors a day.
This is up from the 22 they were operating when the were re-cleared to fly, but way down on the 60 sectors a day that were operating before the forced grounding.
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia (CASA) says this action takes immediate effect. With the extra sectors, Tiger Australia is intending to operate:
- An extra daily service on the Melbourne-Perth route
- An extra daily service on the Melbourne-Brisbane route
- An extra daily service on the Melbourne-Gold Coast route
- Add two extra services on Melbourne-Sydney route.
Tiger intends to be operating these services before Christmas.
It’s good to see the carrier back in the air, and it’s even better that CASA still has it’s eye on the airline in case (dread the thought) another mishap occurs.
