KLM throws in the towel at Liverpool

14/12/2011 by Kevincm

KLM has decided to kill off one its feed network endpoints – connecting the City of Liverpool and Amsterdam.

Currently, KLM operates the service 3 times a day to and from Amsterdam. This will be reduced to nil.

The change in service will take effect from 25th March 2012.

KLM state that due to the economic downturn, they’re cancelling the route.

For those of you in Liverpool and who feel it a sin to travel to Manchester Airport to catch your KLM flight and connection, EasyJet will happily operate and carry you from Liverpool to Amsterdam up to 3 times daily.

Providing you build in enough connection time, you might also find by splitting your Liverpool to Amsterdam to wherever in the world in two, there may be one hell of a saving in Air Passenger Duty too…
