Well here’s a turn up for the books with Germanwings, with them allowing passengers to earn Miles and More STATUS miles.
Miles and More of course, is the “Integrated” mileage programme of Lufthansa, Swiss, Brussels Airlines, Austrian and other Lufthansa companies.
Germanwings runs its own little club called “Boomerang Club”, but for those who are chasing every single status mile on Lufthansa, this is where it gets interesting:
For flights within Germany
Booking class I,Y,B,M: 1,000 award miles per flight Booking class C,H,Q,V,W,S,G,K,L,J: 500 award miles per flight Booking class T,X,N,E,F,O,P,R,D: 125 award miles per flight
For flights within Europe
Booking class I,Y,B,M: 1,250 award miles per flight Booking class C,H,Q,V,W,S,G,K,L,J: 750 award miles per flight Booking class T,X,N,E,F,O,P,R,D: 125 award miles per flight
It doesn’t take a genius to work out that the lower you pay, the lower amount of miles you get.
Also lounge access for HON and SEN within Germany is now allowed if you’re travelling Germanwings.
And this went live as of 1st January 2012.
The Boomerang Club will continue to run, but as Germanwings begins to head to the bigger airports (for starters it’s going into London Heathrow soon), this is a welcome opportunity to earn more miles on Miles and More.
