For those who used to play Microsoft Flight Simulator…

06/01/2012 by Kevincm

… or still do for that matter – good news! Microsoft has finally got off it’s backside and has released to Beta it’s new epic – Microsoft Flight.

And the best news is – the startup stuff is going to be Free. As in nothing. Of course – it’s taking the classic “Freeium” style that’s taken off with In-App purchasing on various platforms.

The free download will only allow access to a simulation of Hawaii’s Big Island and only one aircraft, the Icon A5 flying boat.. Signing up to  Games for Windows LIVE account will get additional planes and missions. And of course, you’ll be able to buy stuff too.

How good it will be – only time will tell. However, if you want to find out early, the Beta is now open for Invitations – see https://connect.microsoft.com/site1134/InvitationUse.aspx?ProgramID=6087&InvitationID=FLY-BRQX-BXTB.
