Emirates to go daily to Lisbon

13/02/2012 by Kevincm

That small and retiring carrier – Emirates – is expanding its sphere of influence and flights, this time expanding operations to Lisbon in Portugal.

Operating as below:

EK191  DEPART DXB  09:15 ARRIVE LIS 14:45
EK192 DEPART LIS 17:55    ARRIVE DXB 04:35+1

Commences 09/07/2012
Equipment Booked: Boeing 777-200ER

The interesting thing is the launch of this route, which is occurring six days after Emirates push into Barcelona, and increase services to Madrid.

For those who want Barcelona flights, these are listed as below (with different equipment)

EK185 DEPART DXB 06:55 ARRIVE BCN 12:00
EK186 DEPART BCN 16:40 ARRIVE DXB 01:00+1

Commences 03/07/2012
Equipment Booked: Boeing 777-300ER

Emirates will be the first Middle Eastern carrier to operate to Portugal, connecting to the Emirates Fortress Hub at Dubai, and beyond.

Another expansion for Emirates there and also first to market… It will be interesting to see if any other of the Gulf-area airlines decide to have a go too in these economic times…
