What? 1000 of the things?
It seems that way. Boeing is still forging ahead with building 777’s even as they start going to production output on the 787, whilst keeping the flow of 737’s going.
The 1000th 777, a 777-300ER is being built for Emirates, and has entered the final join phase.

This 777-300ER will be delivered to Emirates in March 2012.
Well it’s got there a lot quicker than the 1000th 767, and the sales record shows the 777 is a great seller for Boeing.
NYBanker says
Only two hull losses since the ’90s and no pax fatalities. Not bad. When this first came out, there was a lot of talk about the range and only two engines. That has proven to be an invalid concern.
(There was one ground crew fatality in DEN related to a 777 a bunch of years back.)
