Air Berlin creates a Platinum Status level as it prepares to join OneWorld

08/03/2012 by Kevincm

OneWorld inductee (Or a seemingly stable OneWorld member to be) Air Berlin is to modify its TopBonus frequent flyer programme with the introduction of a Platinum level.

Status level matches for Air Berlin’s TopBonus level have been confirmed, with the following:

  • TopBonus Silver = OneWorld Ruby
  • TopBonus Gold = OneWorld Sapphire
  • TopBonus Platinum= OneWorld Emerald

To gain Platinum status, it’s a hard 100,000 Topbonus status miles within a 12-month period.

TopBonus Platinum will also include:

  • A dedicated customer service team,
  • Business class upgrade vouchers
  • Air Berlin TopBonus Silver status for spouses
  • All OneWorld Emerald Level amenities

And there’s not long to wait with Air Berlin actually joining Oneworld on 20th March.
