Scoot scoots in with 4 classes of travel – well two actually…

12/03/2012 by Kevincm

Scoot has confirmed a bit more about how it’s going to separate the product they’re offering.

In Economy, there are three subclasses:

  • Fly – The seat on the plane
  • FlyBag – Your seat and a bag with a 15Kg allowance.
  • FlyBagEat – Seat, bag and food, with a 15kg Luggage allowance and one meal

Business will be composed on one class – ScootBiz which has a 20kg luggage allowance, preferred seat selection, priority boarding, up to two meals with beverages, two items of carry-on luggage, a comfort kit, in-seat power and fast-track check in at a dedicated desk.

Lets look at the pain that will be the seating. And it’s not good news if you’re in the back of the plane as the configuration as it’s 3-4-3 seating layout with a 31″ Seat pitch.

In other words Crammed in. Off the top of my head Emirates and maybe Air France run their 777’s like this (but not in a 200 configuration – I’ll have to check).

Business Class will be configured in a crammed in style with a 2-4-2 layout with 38″ Seat pitch

For those of you still in the dark who Scoot are, it’s the Long Haul Low Cost Carrier of Singapore Airlines, with an expected launch of June 2012 using Boeing 777-200 Aircraft from Singapore Airlines.

Initial operations will be to Australia and the Gold Coast, with no prices set as yet.
